Thomas Schmalfeldt


Thomas is a Ph.D. student, working part time at the chair of “Computer Aided Architectural Design” at the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland. His field of research is about sound in architecture. His approach is to design the sound of matter and space in a pre-specific way, instead of just optimizing it. Besides that, Thomas lectures at the Zurich University of Teachers Education, in the department of mathematics. He holds a Master Degree in Mathematics from the University of Zurich (2011) and a Bachelor in Secondary Education from the St. Gallen University of Teachers Education (1998). He has an „Ableton Specialist Cerificate“ from Berkleemusic.
